An Díseart to host festival in honour of Nano Nagle this weekend

The life and times of Presentation Order founder, Nano Nagle, will be celebrated at a special spiritual festival at An Diseart, this weekend. Ceoltóiri Óga Chorca Dhuibhne will open proceedings tonight (Friday June 19th) when they perform a special musical recital at 7pm in An Diseart. Following a book sale tomorrow afternoon (Sat, June 20th), local historian Pat Nelligan will officially launch a new book entitled Jesus in Dingle, conceived and written by local author, former Dingle Canon and Professor, Monsignor Pádraig Ó Fiannachta. Mass will be celebrated in the beautiful Presentation Convent Chapel at 11.30am, home to the world famous Harry Clarke stained-glass windows. This will be followed by a special blessing in the Nano Nagle room where artist Eleanor Yates has created a number of murals. Refreshments will then be served in the grounds of An Diseart from 1-3pm, while the Monsignor blesses a recently rediscovered well.An Diseart will be open to the public from 10am this Monday and Tuesday while a pilgrimage to An Teampall Geal at Baile Riach will bring this spiritual festival to a close.
